Hi folks time for another week of catching up on comics. This one is a very light week only three of them really. So lets dive right in shall we?
Hey guys!
So another week in comics done for me so time to catch up on what I have read recently. Truth be told I can actually read most comics in under 10 minutes (sometimes five if it’s really bad). So if I were to do a post every time I finished another week worth of comics, you guys would get like close to three to four posts a day, and well I can’t write that much and I doubt anyone actually cares to read that much. But any way here is what we have for this week!
Hey everyone!
Ok first off I’m doing these observations (reviews?) in the middle of some story arcs. I will try to give some backstory, but if anyone is really really interested in what the hell happened in previous issues or is confused let me know and I can tell you or find the appropriate Wikipedia article for you. Alright so for this round of comics I read the following!
Comics Everyone!
So I am a big comic nerd. I mostly read Marvel comics, I do love some DC and some other brands but for the most of it I have been a Marvel kid since before High School. My problem with it is, well I”m stupid and follow too many comics and do not really have the time or money. I love following anything with Spider-Man in it, that’s because he is my number one favorit hero and even if it is stupid odds are I will pick it up and read it. However because of that it also means I have to now pick up the Avengers because he is a part of that, and well there are more then one version of the Avengers so I should probably read that too, and you know what Tunderbolts does not seem that bad either and…well see what I mean? One just follows another. Then there are ones that I like and the rational part of me realizes I probably don’t need to pick up every issue but I want it anyway. Those are your Black Panthers, Thors, and Deadpools
So when I lost full time employment I could not justify paying anywhere between $40 to $50 dollars every two weeks to indulge in my little comic book habit, addiction whatever. As a result I have fallen horribly horribly behind story wise in what is happening in the Marvel Universe. No idea what the hell Fear Itself is about (besides being stupid and awful from what I hear), no idea what this Schism thing was and no idea why the X-Men are currently fighting the Avengers. I still don’t have full time work but way back on Christmas my brother was amazing and got a metric fuck ton of some of the comics I have been missing. So now when I do have some extra cash I try to fill in the gaps of the ones I am missing and continue with catching up.
I figured as something fun I would do a little blog piece on the issues I am currently reading. What’s great is basically I am now reading issues that have been out for over a year for the first time so I do not have to worry about spoilers that much. So I hope to make this a regular thing. I am now currently in June of 2011 just read past the third Issue of Fear Itself (Yea it’s really stupid already…) When I get through a week I’ll do a little post of what shit went down and my thoughts about it. If you like Comics I hope you enjoy this. If you don’t like comics…well you can read this and make fun of me for my awful awful punctuation, grammar and formatting issues (can you tell I am not a professional writer?)
Maybe? Who Knows.
I really do suck at trying to blog. I know this. However I am going to try to do more this month, I”m going to see if I can do more blogging and see if it’s worth it for me to to do or not.
I’m going to be trying a new thing here involving comics. It’s mostly going to be about myself trying to get back into it and how much of a long struggle it’s going to be. So if anyone cares that will be a thing.
Well lets see…
So I just finished playing L.A. Noire and well…I finished it. I know a lot of people were not satisfied with this game and I can understand why. I don’t want to say I was let down or disappointed, but I guess this game did not turn out the way I thought it was and there were a few things lacking to me by the time I was done.
I actually saw The Spider-Man Musical about two weeks ago. The only reason why I have not done a post on it sooner is well I had to take some time to actually process what I saw, wrap my head around it and think about if I liked it or not.
So I’m suscribed to WordPress’s writers block email, where everyday they send you a topic that you might be able to write about for your blog. For the most of it there pretty generic and I don’t really see anything that actually inspires me to want to write about anything. Well they finally sent me one that actually made me think.
“What’s the most on fire you’ve ever been?”
So like any other good fanboy of the series I just recently picked up the latest incarnation of Pokemon. Pokemon Black and White. If any of you are gamers like me you already know what reviewers are saying and why this game kicks ass. If your not gamers or real fans of the series I”m sure your wondering. “why the hell are you still playing pokemon?” or “Isn’t this like the 15th version of the game to come out?” Read the rest of this page »
I was able to borrow Heavy Rain from a friend and that kicked that off as my first PS3 Game of the year and well ever. I had seen others play it and it did really intriuge me as a different then most type games. What I really liked though was how the game reminded me of the old school PC Puzzle type games I used to play as a kid. Things like Lucas Arts Monkey Island, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, The Dig or Revolutions PC game Circle of Blood, those types of games I would spend hours wracking my brain on how to solve and get swept up with the unfolding story. That being said Heavy Rain was able to recapture that feeling for me quite well. However it does have some flaws, but not so many that it actually ruins the experience of the game for me.
